Shade Canopy
If you often have guests in your home and frequently host parties or social gatherings, creating a comfortable place for them can be a challenge. You may have a huge garden, backyard, or probably a patio and maybe a number of lounging furniture; but instead of having your guests linger inside or huddle in a small shaded area, why not offer an excellent outdoor atmosphere with shade canopies that add décor and create a charming gathering place for the guests.
For those considering light screen shelters for the patio, backyard, or garden, then there is nothing better on hot days than to relax in the cooling shade of a shade canopy. Shade canopies are appealing to eyes, resists harsh sun rays, set up easily, and come in an amazing array of flexible and creative styles and sizes.
Patio shade canopies make a nice form of sun shelter during hot weathers and they add a charming atmosphere on the patio. They can be fantastic shady retreats that protect the fabric and wood on patio tables, chairs, and benches; they help prevent drying and fading that comes with patio furniture exposure to sunlight –for short, they do not only provide a cool and comfortable atmosphere on the patio, but they add years to one’s outdoor fixtures.
Prices of patio shade canopies vary, but even the most excellent canvas materials and covers are fairly inexpensive. There are also a lot of varieties of options for frame sizes and shapes, canvas design and style, as well as overall function.
A shade canopy is not however, limited to just the home environment; they can provide temporary shelters, shaded work areas, product displays, and other outdoor and indoor functions. If you’re planning to partake in craft fairs, local “home shows”, or community events, then you’d still need a tent that’s as roomy and attractive, yet easily transported and set up –once again, a shade canopy answers the need.
So how much shade does one actually need from their shade canopy? Most people don’t really think about this feature of canopies, and may sound needless; however, it is still very helpful to know and give in some thought about the amount of shade really needed and at what time of the day. Think about this: you would suppose that a 10’x10’ tarp covering would give a 120sq. feet shade and a 12’x12’ tarp would provide a 144sq feet shade right? Think again! Here are two essential tips to consider when evaluating one’s shade requirement:
Small tops for canopies is fine during noon, or if you only need the central area to be shaded under the canopy; but as the sun goes lower, during mornings or afternoons, the more canvas is needed to extend the shaded area. During 2:00 to 3:00 pm, the time that afternoon heat is at its peak, a 10’x10’ shelter will give much less than a 100-square-foot of shade.
The design of the canopy will also affect the shade. A number of structures are designed with legs that lengthen outward at a certain angle; this type is excellent for added stability, however, a 12’x12’ floor area in this design will have a rather smaller canvas top area. As a “rule of thumb”, unless the legs of the canopy are vertical, figure a shaded area that’s six to ten percent less than the area of the ground. Bottom line is, with canopies size does matter.
Make the outdoors a more attractive, comfortable, and cooler places to spend time at; whether using it for the patio, backyard, or garden of the home, or for more lucrative commercial purposes, a shade canopy will provide a convenient and lovely shelter.
